Celebrate children's rights – together!

Kids of all ages need to learn about their rights so they can reach their full potential. If you're a teacher or student, encourage your class to participate in National Child Day together. If you’re a parent or grandparent, share it with your child or grandchild, as well as their teacher.

Children First Canada is hosting an interactive digital event to celebrate Canada's commitment to upholding the rights of children. Watch the event together online, and then discuss it as a class or family!

Date: Friday, November 20
Time: 1 p.m. ET

This year, young people from across Canada will discuss what it means to be #SeenAndHeard. We’ll also hear from youth activists taking action on climate change, Black Lives Matter and other social movements. Canada’s leading voices for children’s rights, government and industry leaders will also join the discussion.

CBC Kids News Contributor Arjun Ram will host the event, including a live interview with Canadian basketball player Michael Linklater, a Nehiyaw (Cree) descending from the Thunderchild First Nation. The Hon. Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, will also make a special appearance – along with other prominent federal leaders on Parliament Hill.
