Independent Performance Review process commences: Have your say!
Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA) has commissioned an Independent Performance Review. It will determine what the company is doing well and areas for improvement. As part of this process, direct feedback from stakeholders is now being sought.

FWPA announces Board changes and new Chair
Craig Taylor has been elected as Chair of the FWPA Board, following the retirement of incumbent Chair John Simon.
Under the FWPA Constitution, the Chair is elected by fellow Directors at the first Board meeting following the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which took place on Thursday 22 October.

Collaborative innovations to offer transformative outcomes for Australian forestry

A new collaborative entity is set to enable more effective cooperation and coordination of investment in research across Australian agricultural industries.
The goal is to deliver the type of transformational innovation needed to boost productivity and profitability, and achieve a 2030 target of $100 billion in ‘farm gate value’*.
‘Farm gate value’ refers to the market value of Australia’s agricultural product, minus selling costs.

What: Connections are the critical component when designing and building with timber structures.Recent innovations have enabled us to engineer our buildings to increase in scale, while improving safety and productivity of installation, and optimising the amount of wood on-site.
Matteo Andreottola from Rothoblaas will discuss:
- the modern angle brackets and how they transfer shear and tension forces;
- recent innovative connections including the Alustart, Spider and Pillar connections; and
