What Exotic Memories will we Look for after the Pandemic?

November 10th, 2020
Hello, Pipers!
And a big welcome to the new subscribers!

There’s a little forest growing in my Croatian home! I managed to cultivate more than a dozen avocado plants from their pits! This brought some exotic green views from my windows, otherwise dominated by the falling leaves of autumn trees.

With faraway destinations out of reach, this is the maximum of a tropical feeling I can get these days. That plus turning up the heating, of course!

It’s not all grim as autumn skies. The good news about the development of the vaccine against COVID-19 boosted the much-needed optimism.

The stock market awoke, and not only for Pfizer’s portfolio but for airlines too. Is that an encouraging light at the end of the non-travel tunnel? Can travelers start dreaming big again?

Being a European citizen in the territory of Europe was a privilege during the transition from summer to autumn. I managed to visit friends in Greece and Switzerland for a couple of months, just when Croatia started becoming a hot spot of international tourism, in a way that jeopardized its controllable pandemic situation at the beginning of summer.

Being away from bad numbers, and at the same time exploring different natural and cultural landscapes, while staying a responsible traveler, allowed my nomadic spirit to thrive.

Countries are entering lockdowns again, trying to beat the new waves of the pandemic. It will still take time for us to be able to visit real tropical forests (unless we already live close to one). Until then, revisiting memories and rebuilding dreams is just as fine!

There’s no better traveler than a healthy traveler. Be smart and follow the health protocols, so we can all get out of this quicker!

Thank you for being part of Pipeaway’s journey!

And… Αντίο!
That’s Greek for ‘goodbye’!
