OU Receives $7.4M Grant from U.S. Office of Naval Research

A $7.4 million grant awarded from the United States Office of Naval Research to the University of Oklahoma will fund the development of a scanner and innovative digital radar solutions to support research, prototyping and testing of advanced digital radar concepts for the Navy and the U.S. Department of Defense. The project will also make OU home to the largest university-based scanner for near-field measurements in the nation. Read more
 

Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education receives Murray Award 

The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma is one of nine teacher preparation programs receiving the 2020 Frank Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Recipients of the award are selected from the educator preparation providers that were granted accreditation by CAEP at the initial level from the previous year, who provided evidence, and demonstrated data trends with no stipulations or areas for improvement. The Center for Faculty Excellence Launches Faculty Resource Matrix and Webpage

The Center for Faculty Excellence has new support tools and skill development resources for faculty and instructors. We have worked with more than 20 offices across OU Norman to locate support for teaching, research and creative activity, community engagement, diversity/equity/inclusion, leadership, wellness, career advancement and assessment tools. Call for Short-Term Course Proposals for OU Study Centers

The College of International Studies announces an opportunity for OU faculty to teach a short term course at our Study Centers located in Puebla, Mexico and Arezzo, Italy. Faculty are welcome to propose courses at one/both of our Study Center locations during the Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022 academic terms. During their stay, faculty members will have the opportunity to participate in student life at the center, collaborate with local partners, and help represent OU to the local community. Read more

The Carceral Studies Consortium at the University of Oklahoma brings together community members, faculty, staff, and students from across OU and beyond to cultivate and support rigorous research, pedagogy, and community engagement toward social transformation. Three Layers of Inclusive Teaching

This workshop will discuss how to design a course that covers three layers of inclusive teaching: classroom diversity, intellectual diversity, and pedagogical diversity. Hunt Energy CEO Hunter Hunt of Dallas will discuss the growth of renewable energy and what that means for hydrocarbons in the latest episode of the University of Oklahoma Energy Institute’s webcast series. Hunt's message comes at a time when many people are talking about the upcoming “energy transition,” a move away from a world dominated by molecules — oil and natural gas — to one dominated by electrons. ORCiD and SciENcv Training Webinar

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is requiring proposals submitted on or after October 5, 2020 to provide biosketches and current and pending funded programs in a specific format. This format can be produced through a SciENcv (a program managed by NIH/NCBI) – which will pull your information from ORCiD and hold your information for edits further down the road, or through a fillable pdf (biosketchcurrent and pending). This webinar will present a PowerPoint to walk you through the process of 1) signing up for your ORCiD and populating your information fields, 2) the process of signing up for your NCBI account, and 3) how to create your SciENcv. Managing Research Projects with Open Science Framework

Do you wish you had version histories for all of your project files? Open Science Framework (OSF) is a free and open source website run by the nonprofit Center for Open Science. OSF can be used as a repository or a lab notebook, with generous storage and a 50-year preservation fund to ensure data safety.
