The CJI will introduce these Guidelines, which were approved in August 2020 with the purpose of providing a better understanding of non-traditional international agreements, including non-binding agreements among States and those concluded by government ministries and sub-national territorial units.

ONU - La recuperación del mercado laboral en América Latina tras la pandemia será lenta
Los mercados laborales de América Latina y el Caribe están siendo golpeados por la pandemia del COVID-19 de una manera nunca vista lo que se ha traducido en la mayor contracción de los últimos 100 años con fuertes costos económicos, laborales, sociales y productivos. Los mayores efectos se sintieron en el segundo trimestre del año en el que se estima una pérdida de aproximadamente 47 millones de empleos
 
PAHO - Rapid antigen tests arriving in countries to assist in COVID-19 response in the Americas
These new tests, recently approved by WHO, could transform the region’s COVID-19 response by allowing health workers to undertake accurate, rapid testing for symptomatic patients, even in remote communities. Rapid antigen tests are more accurate in determining if someone is currently infected, unlike  previous rapid, antibody tests, which can show when someone has had COVID-19 but often give a negative result during the early stages of infection.

IDB - Group Analyzes Financial Inclusion in Times of COVID-19
Financial inclusion is called to play a fundamental role in the response of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to the COVID-19 crisis. On November 16, IDB Lab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank and IDB Invest, the private arm of the IDB Group, will bring together experts on the state of financial inclusion in a scenario strongly marked by the disruptions caused by the health emergency. The event  will take place virtually from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm (EST), after registering at the following link .  


WHO - 73rd World Health Assembly set to strengthen preparedness for health emergencies
In a year that has seen more than 1.2 million lives lost to a deadly coronavirus pandemic, WHO’s 194 Member States are expected to adopt a resolution to strengthen preparedness for health emergencies EB146.R10, at the resumed 73rd World Health Assembly. The draft resolution renews the commitment to better prepare for health emergencies such as COVID-19, through “full” compliance with the International Health Regulations (2005).
