Leadership Development

Training Unity Leaders in Effective Leadership

Dance of Triangles. We all dance with emotional triangles on a regular basis. They are a common pattern in the fabric of relationships. You may have attempted to deal with this by telling people not to triangulate. However, it seems they don’t listen, the pattern continues, and things become more and more entangled. This webinar will be held on four Tuesdays, November 24–December 15, 2020, 2-4 p.m. (CT). Register by November 20, 2020, through UWSI. Five CEUs are available.
Webinar: What’s It Got to Do With Me? Suicide is a problem worldwide. As spiritual leaders, we are uniquely situated to have an impact on reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and assisting those contemplating suicide or affected by suicide. Attendees will learn from Rev. Randie Jacobs simple approaches that they and their spiritual communities can implement. This webinar will be on November 19, 2020, from 1:30-3 p.m. (CT). Register by November 17, 2020. 1.5 CEUs are available.
Integrity and Values for Life, Ministry, and Teaching. Integrity is an essential quality in all walks of life, but it is especially important for credentialed leaders. In this webinar, we'll discuss how to create ethical standards to ensure you do the right thing, regardless of the circumstances. Register by January 10, 2021, for this webinar on January 12, 2021. This is eligible for ethics/boundaries CEUs.
Keep It Simple, Keep It Bold, Keep It Inclusive: Welcoming Young Adults Into Your Ministry. This three-part series will reveal ways to welcome and engage young adults as active members in your ministry. Learn how to build an intergenerational community, and create spiritual support for teens and young adults. This webinar will be held on Wednesdays, January 20, 27, and February 3, 2021. Register through UWSI by January 14, 2021. Five CEUs are available.
Connecting Through Virtual and Hybrid Experiences. In a time of uncertainty and Zoom fatigue, it is essential that we explore new ways to engage our children, teens, and families. Let’s go beyond the synchronous “live” session and move into creating interactive, virtual experiences that can be done anytime and anywhere. Register by January 19, 2021, for this webinar on January 21. Two CEUs are available.
Effective Mentoring. Research has revealed that mentoring is an effective way to help people become more successful in their field of work. This course is intended for field ministers interested in mentoring ministerial students, peers, or others. Special emphasis is placed on ways to help mentees develop their skills related to ministry operations, and their emotional and spiritual intelligence. This webinar is held on five Thursdays, January 21 through February 18, 2021. Register by January 14 through UWSI. Five CEUs are available.
Building Teams, Embodying Oneness. Healthy, coherent teamwork is an essential component for ministry success—and a powerful way to embody the first Unity principle. This training utilizes intentional processes to build effective teams, develop practices that support collaboration and creative thinking, and create a unified approach to leadership and decision making. This four-part series will be held on Tuesdays in February 2021. Register through UWSI by January 28, 2021. Five CEUs are available.
YFM Virtual Adventures Holiday Lessons. As we move more fully into these virtual times, we have the opportunity to create interactive, online experiences for our children. The lessons are not dependent upon connecting through a live, Zoom-like session, but rather are designed to be enjoyed at any time from any place Wi-Fi is available. The children can move through the experiences on their own, as well as explore them with their parents/guardians. Just click the images and the adventure begins! See more general YFM virtual lessons.
Annual Theme Resources for November. Our theme this month is “Interconnection.” We have a video, meditation, article by Rev. Toni Stephens Coleman, music playlist, bulletin cover, and digital posters. Be inspired by them and share them! All of these are part of our annual theme “Perfect Vision: Seeing Through a Spiritual Lens” resources.
EarthCare Musing. From Mike McCord, EarthCare ministry team chair, “As we enter this next chapter of America, let us remember that that we all are one and share a sacred bond with all of creation. The trees we see and touch may not talk to us in an audible voice, but we learn from them about the importance of being flexible and yielding to winds of change. Let’s join as one, open our hearts, and connect ourselves to the journey ahead.” Visit the EarthCare webpage for resources to support you on the journey.
