BLUE MANNA BULLETIN

Good Morning Members!

I cant believe it is the end of November!  The Christmas decorations will be going up this weekend (hopefully), and everyone is getting into the festive spirit...which I absolutely love!!!!

The Clubs Annual Christmas Dinner is on Friday 18th December.  We are in the process of finalising the menu and tickets will be on sale early next week.  We are still on restrictions as to our limit of attendance, so please feel free to book your table for this event.  This is the last function of the year and is always a great night full of Christmas cheer, great food and celebration so make sure you keep reading the newsletter and get in quick to purchase your tickets when they go on sale.

The State Government has announced that it will re-introduce Contact Tracing to licenced venues, which includes the Club,  commencing on Saturday 5th December.  The Club will be introducing the SafeWA contactless registration where members, guests and staff scan the bar code with their phone at the allocated entrances and also a paper registration form.  I have included a flyer at the end of the Newsletter with information in regards to downloading the SafeWA app for those of you who would like to use this.  Please be aware that ALL PERSONS ENTERING THE CLUB WILL NEED TO REGISTER EACH TIME THEY ENTER THE PREMISES.  Clubs have the right to refuse entry to individuals who fail to do so and also who decline to register their details.  Please remember that maintaining a contact register is an extra safety measure and one of the most effective ways to control the spread of COVID-19.

The Lions Club of Falcon have their famous Christmas cakes and puddings for sale at the Club.  This year they also have some beautifully decorated and wrapped Christmas cakes ready to give us a present.  Please support this wonderful Club and purchase your cakes from the office.

Have a great weekend and whatever you choose to do, have a great time, stay safe and I will speak to you next week!

6 Primary Schools participated in the Interschool Bowls Carnival last Friday.  All students and staff that participated had a fantastic day.  It was great to see all the kids get involved and enjoy the sport of lawn bowls.

A BIG THANK YOU goes to John Gowdie who organises this event every year along with the school co-ordinators.  A lot of work is involved behind the scenes for it to be such a successful day.  Also  a BIG THANK YOU goes to the bowls volunteers who turned up on the day to score and help out with the kids.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

Bowls Coaching Corner
Delivering the Jack
The importance of delivering the jack straight and to a required length cannot be over emphasised.  The following principles if followed, should ensure the correct delivery of the jack.

3. Delivering the Jack
You are now standing correctly on the mat, feet pointing straight up the green, jack correctly held in your right hand, arm relaxed and your skipper standing at the length to which he wants the jack delivered.  Take a normal straight walking length step with your left foot bending, your right knee towards the aiming point, exactly as delivering a bowl and stand still until the Jack has stopped rolling.

Monday afternoon at 2:00pm coaching will be on through the pennant season come and get your basics checked , you could then maybe earn extra points for your team.

Coaching Clinics also 8.30 am Friday mornings
