Important COVID-19 Update - 11/27/20

The 25-person limit for public Masses is now lifted because of a Supreme Court ruling and a subsequent announcement from the Diocese. Social distancing and masks will continue and the Sunday obligation remains lifted. We will continue to stream the 4:30 PM Saturday Vigil Mass here on Facebook Live!

Happy Thanksgiving! "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever." - Psalm 107:1

Mass Livestream: 4:30 Saturday Vigil

We've started to live-stream the 4:30 PM Saturday Vigil Mass for those at home, on Facebook Live! Click here to watch it on our Facebook page. The videos are available to watch later as well.

Last week, with the launch of our first live-streamed Masses from St. Teresa, we were overwhelmed with the large numbers of people participating in our Masses online and following our Facebook page! Both locals from South Buffalo and St. Teresa alumni from around the country were participating with us, and we welcome them whole-heartedly.

From the Pastor's Desk: Advent

Advent wreathDear Parishioners,

Advent is here. Before we know it Christmas will be upon us. Each day of the four weeks of Advent is an opportunity to reflect on the treasures of our lives that all of us savor from the bottom of our respective hearts.

Faith, Family, and Friends are by far the finest treasures of anyone's life. We can thank our parents for the gift of faith; we can thank God for our gift of our families; and we can thank others for being open to our friendship.

With the Covid 19 Pandemic, we missed our annual Missionary Visit from a Missionary Priest.

The following is in lieu of the visit; however, your generosity in giving to the Missions in July was greatly appreciated by the Missionary Appeal Office.

Sr. Helen Imhandeyo Alekhuojie, SSH, a member of the congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Nigeria, and administrator of Sacred Heart Nursery/Primary & St. Margaret Mary High School thanks you for your support of their schools. These women are devoted to the promotion of the Kingdom of God on earth through formal education in the Nursery, Primary, & Secondary grades.

Only a few parents are able to meet the financial obligations, and with the Covid 19 Pandemic the school lacks benefactors to assist in the development of the school. The main form of transportation for these children is their School Bus which is in very poor condition. In order to ensure that the pupils get to school, the need to get a new bus is urgent. It is through your generosity that we are able to help them through this dilemma.

Peace, Father Jim

Bishop Sharfenberger has sent a Prayer for Renewal, just in time for Advent & Christmas.

In every age, O God, you have called us to be your people, to be your Church.

In this time, we begin anew to discern the pathways that will lead us, your people, to you to continue that journey as we proclaim your Good News, celebrate your saving presence among us, serve others with charity and justice, and steward the world You have entrusted to our care.

Send us your Spirit to lead and guide our Emmaus journey As we commit ourselves to renew our church.

This we ask in Jesus' name. Amen
