Issue 30

Hello <<First Name>>,

Do you ever take a leap of faith?

Do you ever do something, knowing it feels right but you are just not sure how it will turn out?

Taking these leaps, trusting we are guided by the Holy Spirit, brings strength, comfort and confidence in our choices, decisions and actions whatever leaps we take.

Stay Connected with what matters. Pass this newsletter onto a friend (or stranger!) and encourage others to sign up here so they too can be connected.

Check out the Greystones Parish and Kilquade Parish websites during the week for information too.

WEEKEND LITURGY

First Sunday of Advent

Beginning again is an invitation to look in two directions. What happened for me in the last year, both in my ordinary life and in my life as a believer, a person of faith?  For what do I give thanks? For what do I ask forgiveness?
We also look forward and the new beginning gives us a chance to start again on the Way of discipleship.  Both thanksgiving and renewal are to be found in this Sunday’s readings.
The Gospel is in invitation to wake up, to keep watch, to live fully the present moment under God, in whom we live and move and have our being.
Let our Prayer this weekend be:  Wake us up, O God, and rouse us from the slumber of the everyday that we may recognise you in every moment and in every person, today and every day of our lives.

PASTORAL AREA NEWS

Godly Play: ‘Circle of the Church Year’
Godly Play is an approach where children discover God through story and play.

This weekend we provide a Godly play episode entitled: ‘Circle of the Church Year’.
The story this week explores, in a simple way, the cycle of the church year, introducing us to the times we have for preparation.  This weekend we move into Advent, a time of preparation for Christmas.
Watch the
video as a family together and use the ‘I wonder’ questions at the end to reflect on the story.
Tune in next week we begin the journey of Mary and Joseph.
Godly Play Video
Take a magical journey around Greystones as you walk in the footsteps of Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and wise men towards the stable in Bethlehem.
Follow the map and find clues at each station to help you break the hidden code and unlock the meaning of Christmas.

Taizé Prayer in Advent
We will hold our traditional Taízé Prayer service on each Friday in Advent, 4th, 11th and 18th Dec at 8pm. It will take place as part of our Night Prayer on ZOOM.
The liturgy will be aimed at helping us to reflect on and prepare for the feast of the Nativity. This offers us a wonderful opportunity to make the spiritual journey that Advent invites us into.  All of the traditional elements of lighting, chant, reflection, intercessions and quiet prayer will be included.  Get out your candles, we will create a taizé space across the parishes and beyond.  The zoom code is: 779 326 577.

See the
website for help on accessing zoom - ask a friend or family member to help you set it up if required.
