Relaunch Grant
I am pleased to let you know the provincial government will soon launch a second round of the Small and Medium Enterprises Relaunch Grant I helped negotiate on your behalf awhile back. The grant offers a second payment of up to $5,000 for businesses that were ordered to close or restrict operations and as a result experienced a 40% or greater loss of revenue. Emergency Rent Subsidy (no participation of landlord needed)
The new Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS) program has just launched an improved rent relief program. There is no minimum revenue drop required to qualify for the subsidy. It will provide direct rent relief to renters and property owners without requiring participation from landlords and is scalable based on the percentage of revenue loss. Businesses that have experienced a drop in revenue may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of their commercial rent or property expenses from September 27, 2020 until June 2021. You can apply today for September 24 – October 24. Applications for October 25 0 November 21 will open November 30. Applications for November 22 – December 19 will open December 23. Applications must be filed no later than 180 after the end of a claim period. Link for more here.
New Government Restrictions
Effective November 27, new provincial restrictions designed to reduce COVID spread take effect. For a complete list of new restrictions for businesses and individuals: Government of Alberta website
New Low Cost Calgary Delivery Group
For food and beverage related members you may want to look into https://bestofcalgaryfoods.com/ collective which is offering $10 delivery charge for participating businesses.
