New Council Members in the Spotlight
This Week - Meet Ian Duke

I started sailing at the age of 12 crewing in a Heron class dinghy and moved to crewing a Cherub. I designed a Cherub for a friend which won the National Championships. I took up the position of Dinghy Captain for a major Bank organising teams competing at Larchmont New York and inter bank and regional competitions some of which were held at DWSC. I have completed 25 consecutive Cowes Weeks, started two Fastnet races and finished one. I am a passionate K1 sailor and 2019 K1 UK Masters Champion. Outside sailing I play a bit of golf badly and I have motorcycled from Kathmandu to Everest base camp and onto Lhasa in Tibet and motorcycled the Inca trail in Peru.
I have joined Datchet Council to head up special projects.

Datchet Flyer 5th & 6th December
The Sailjuice winter series returns to Datchet on the 5th & 6th of December.
Those who have pre-registered with Sailjuice will get an invitation to complete their entry over the weekend.
If you are a club member who has not entered but would like to then please email manager@dwsc.co.uk by 5pm on Saturday 28th November.
Only Double handers will be sailing on the Saturday and Only Single Handers on the Sunday.
The PRO for the event is Sebastian Camisuli
The Lead Safety for the event is Tristan Beckett.

If you would like to help as a Car park marshall, Safety Boat helm/crew, or a beach helper then please email manager@dwsc.co.uk. We have Covid protocols for the event.
