The Role of Beneficial Ownership Transparency During a Crisis


Beneficial ownership transparency is paramount to ensuring that COVID-19 relief packages go to where they are intended.

Earlier this month, UK Minister Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister Clement Agba of Nigeria, Minister Rustam Badasyan of Armenia, the IMF, FATF, and Transparency International Mexico shared examples and best practices to advance beneficial ownership reforms in OGP countries and identified steps to advance this as a global norm.

Let’s combine innovation, technology and citizen engagement to ensure COVID-19-related spending, stimulus, and safety net measures benefit those most in need and lead to an open recovery. Join ADB and OGP’s innovation challenge and share your ideas. The winning solution will receive up to US$10,000 in funding for pilot testing. The deadline to apply is December 6.
