Statement from the OAS General Secretariat on the Political Situation in Guatemala
The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) supports the efforts of the Government of Guatemala for an inclusive dialogue that facilitates understanding among all sectors of national life. We consider that this is essential to ensure the institutional strengthening of the country, especially in the necessary independence of the judicial and electoral powers.

Digital Government Ministerial Meeting Ends with Pledge to Support post-Pandemic Economic, Social Recovery
The VI Digital Government Ministerial Meeting of Latin America and the Caribbean ended today with a pledge by ministers and other high-ranking officials from 33 nations to promote digital transformation to help with the region’s social and economic recovery in the post-COVID-19 era, with a special emphasis on transborder digital services. In addition, authorities from participating countries designated Colombia as President of the Gealc Network. Colombia will hold this position in 2021 through its Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (MinTIC).

2020 Meeting of the Inter-American Competitiveness Network (RIAC) Re-Defining the Competitiveness Agenda in the Americas: Imperatives for a Post-COVID Recovery
Ministers and High Authorities of Competitiveness are invited to put forward ideas, solutions, and proposals to identify imperatives for a post-COVID recovery. The Meeting aims to set the foundations for a new regional competitiveness agenda in the Americas to be launched at the upcoming XI Americas Competitiveness Forum (ACF) scheduled for February 2021. This new regional competitiveness agenda will include actionable recommendations, focus on economic recovery, and be anchored in good practices and regional cooperation. As part of the Meeting, RIAC’s work and results will be featured as well as the RIAC Covid-19 Ideas Accelerator. The meeting is convened by the Government of Ecuador as RIAC’s Chair Pro Tempore and the OAS as RIAC’s Technical Secretariat.

ONU - UNICEF se alista para el transporte de las vacunas COVID-19 en 92 países
Junto con la Organización Panamericana de la Salud, la agencia de la ONU será la encargada de negociar y gestionar el transporte de las dosis a los países que pertenecen a la iniciativa COVAX, el plan liderado por la OMS para la distribución equitativa de vacunas contra el coronavirus. UNICEF tiene amplia experiencia en el manejo de cadenas de frío indispensables para acabar con la pandemia.
 
ECLAC - Latin American and Caribbean Countries Will Define a New Digital Agenda in Light of the COVID-19 Pandemic at the VII Ministerial Conference on the Information Society
Ministers and other high-level authorities from Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as specialists, will participate on November 23-26 in the Seventh Ministerial Conference on the Information Society, where they will analyze the role of digital technologies in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and debate the policy priorities on digital matters for the next two years.

OECD - Lithuania: COVID-19 Crisis Reinforces the Need for Reforms to Drive Growth and Reduce Inequality
 Effective containment measures, a well-functioning health system and swift public support to firms and households have helped Lithuania to weather the COVID-19 crisis to date. That said, the pandemic still carries significant economic risks, and the recent upsurge in infections is very concerning. Once a recovery is under way, Lithuania should aim to reform public companies, strengthen public finances, and ensure that growth benefits all people and regions, according to a new OECD report.
