Clinical Audit Survey 2018.

Dear Colleague,

As you may be aware the Clinical Audit Support Centre (CASC) conduct an independent survey each year. The aim of the survey is to gain valuable information on the state of clinical audit to share with interested parties.

This is now the eleventh annual audit survey carried out by CASC and this means that we will be able to compare results with previous years. The questions in the survey are identical to last year, although we have decided to drill down more into what people think about national clinical audit! As with all CASC surveys we do not ask for your personal details and you undertake the survey anonymously. Although CASC conduct the survey, this work belongs to the clinical audit community and in early 2021 we will produce a full and complete report. We aim to be fully GDPR compliant and collect only the data we require and be transparent by sharing numeric results and free-text comments in our subsequent reports.

The purpose of the survey is to find out valuable information from those working in clinical audit in 2020 and questions focus on:

  • Your views on national clinical audits and how they could be improved
  • Your views on the state of audit and whether it has been reinvigorated
  • Your views on audit methodology, e.g. re-audit rates
  • Your views on patient involvement in clinical audit
  • Your views on local resourcing for clinical audit, etc.

As in 2019 we are launching our survey to coincide with Clinical Audit Awareness Week. The survey will close on 24 December. Interim results from the survey will be made available via the CASC website in-mid January 2020 and our Learn at Lunch event on 21 January will provide detailed feedback.

The survey has been developed via SurveyMonkey. To access the survey, please click here. This year to help raise awareness, we have also created a flyer that provides more details and a link to the survey, click here. Please pass this onto anyone who you think might be interested in giving feedback.

Thank you for your time and we very much hope you can find a few moments to participate. Based on the previous surveys, the average completion time for those taking part is between 5 and 7 minutes.

Best wishes,

Tracy Ruthven and Stephen Ashmore
CASC Directors
