I am drafting this message as I prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. Like many others, I will be having a different holiday experience this year—no airports, no flights, no dozens of people coming and going. Despite the disappointment, I am grateful to be part of the biomedical research enterprise that is working tirelessly to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope you all practice safe gathering and adhere to the three Ws: Wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. Happy Thanksgiving!
Registration is still open for the NIH Office of Disease Prevention (ODP) Pathways to Prevention Workshop: Can Physical Activity Improve the Health of Wheelchair Users? being held December 1–3, 2020. Please support this collaborative effort among NCMRR, the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), and ODP.
The next meeting of the National Advisory Board on Medical Rehabilitation Research is Monday, December 7. This will be a virtual meeting and will include updates from NIH.
December 7 is also the last day to respond to the Request for Information to give feedback on the NIH-Wide Strategic Plan for COVID-19 Research (PDF, 3.44 MB).
