I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. As many of you already know, at our November general membership meeting last week, SVYD voted to convene an ad hoc committee to discuss writing a letter to Governor Newsom's office with recommendations as to who he should appoint to succeed Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in the Senate. The ad hoc committee will come up with a name or a list of names and recommend them to the membership at large to vote on at a special membership meeting on Monday, November 30, at 7PM.
I'm sure I don't need to stress how important it is that whoever steps in to fill the Vice President-elect's shoes reflects our values as Silicon Valley Young Democrats. Thus, I urge you all to join us for the special meeting and provide your input so that we can stand united behind the candidate or candidates who will best represent us in Washington.
