Rainbow Coast Carnival - Bremer Bay Weekend Update
REMINDER - there will be NO Woodside Nipper program at Middleton Beach this Sunday 29 November!
Bremer Bay Weekend – 28-29 November 2020
Organisation of the weekend’s events is rotated between the three surf life saving clubs that attend - Albany, Esperance/Goldfields and Denmark. Esperance/Goldfields are hosting the event this year.
This year the carnival will take place on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Water events will be held on one day and beach events on the other, with the timing and location determined by weather conditions. SLSWA coaches will be in attendance offering advice.

No Friday Night Sundowner This Week!
With the majority of the club heading to Bremer Bay this weekend, we wish to advise that there will be NO sundowner or bar facilities this Friday night 27 November. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Youth Update
How fantastic were the youth/seniors on Sunday, the whole morning ran smoothly! Everyone was happy to participate in all events and the combined Taplin relay.

Christmas Pageant –
Change of Plan
This year’s Christmas Pageant is going to be a static event where the floats are going to be stationary and the public will walk around to look at them. As a club we have decided that we will not be involved in this year’s Christmas Pageant.
HOWEVER, we still would love to spread the Christmas Cheer and are going to make our Christmas fun day even BIGGER and BETTER.

Week 4 Wrap Up
What a beautiful day on the beach again this week!
Ironman, 1km Run and Flags were the events this week and it looked like everyone had a great time on the beach. It was also great to see all the parent helpers in the orange vests, we couldn’t do it without our Volunteers so thank you to all of you!

Patrol Update 2
PATROLS: our first day of patrols will be Saturday the 5th of December. The teams covering this are Alex Wells 8:00-12:30 and Chris Ficko 12:30-4:00. Sunday the 6th of December will be Dani 8:00-12:30 and Spurge 12:30-4:00pm. Remember to be there 30mins prior to the start of your patrol please. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided. If you need to stay for a full day of your own choice, then you will need to provide your own lunch. All dates for patrols that were on the website 15/11/2020 have been amended, please check that you have the correct patrol dates and team allocation here.

ASLSC with the generous support of Hazbeanz and contributing partner Avis, are excited to offer a unique coaching opportunity to club ski paddlers. State / National Coach, Olympic Coach (2016) & Olympic Finalist (2012) Jesse Phillips will be conducting a free clinic for members at Albany SLSC.

2020 New Year’s Eve Swim
End your year with a splash! Register your interest for the last swim of the year.
Thursday 31st December come down to Middleton Beach and register on the day at 6:45am, listen to the briefing at 7:15am and with the short course starting at 7:30am and the long course at 7:45am. Presentations will be held at 10am.
You can choose your distance: 400m, 1.25km, 2.5km or 5km.

Member Protection Information
Each member over the age of 18 years MUST have a valid Working With Children Card. This was part of the new SLSWA legislation beginning 2018-19, for the benefit and protection of all minors. This policy does not apply to members who are parents of an under 18 unless in a capacity where as requiring a Working With Children (WWC), i.e. Age Group Managers / Assistants or partaking in overnight camps.
