Thanksgiving at the Bistro

To make things a little easier on Thanksgiving (i.e., we're all tired of our own cooking), the American Bistro will be open this Thursday from 9am-4pm. In addition to the current menu, seasonal offerings will include:

Savory Items

• Roasted Turkey, Cranberry & Brie on Baguette Sandwich
• Shoreline Poached Egg & Avocado Toast
• Autumn Butternut Squash Soup

Sweet Items

• Homemade Granola Parfait, with Yogurt & Apple* Compote
• Cranberry & Apple* Tarts
• Blood Orange Panna Cotta

As far as getting a really nice view for enjoying your turkey or non-turkey goodies, the waterfront lawn and outdoor Bistro patio seating are open. Bistro staff are serving tableside at the patio – with seating spaced for social distancing compliance – and food prepped for takeaway can also be enjoyed there as well.

Specialty Pies

If you do plan on outsourcing dessert this Thanksgiving, or you just want to dig into a pie, Shoreline has you covered as well. This year, Shoreline is making available 6-inch pies for pre-order. For this week though, please place your order by Tuesday at 8pm (for pick up on Wednesday or Thursday).

In keeping with the season, the current offerings are:

• Old-Fashioned Granny Smith Apple* Pie
• Pumpkin Pie with Spiced Whipped Cream Rosettes
• Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

*Homegrown Apples

Yes, the asterisked apples mentioned above are homegrown, and these unique, super-local, and very tasty organic fruit are harvested exclusively for Shoreline Lake. 

Available for a limited time in the Fall, these delectable fruits come from the Pescadero ranch of Christina Ferrari (who runs the Boathouse & Bistro) and her family. Gala, Golden Delicious, Scarlet Spur, Ruby Mac, Pink Lady, Fuji and Granny Smith varieties all formed part of this year's recently completed harvest.

Besides utilizing them in the Bistro's house-made pastries, pies and other goodies, they are also sold on-site. As the last pick, Granny Smiths are now available – small bags ($5) and large bags ($10). Don't forget to get yours, as they sell out quickly...

Equipment Rental Options

Whether you want to get some fresh air out on the water, or on land, all of Shoreline's equipment can be booked online as rentals. That includes sailboats, pedalboats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards, along with bicycles (plus related equipment) and Micro Mini Scooters.

Depending on equipment type, rentals are still restricted to members of the same household, or individuals only. Also, in case your teen is feeling a little stir-crazy and wants to rent their own equipment, Shoreline just needs parental permission and the current waiver in place.

Private Classes Available

You can still book private watersports instruction sessions at Shoreline. From Beginner to Advanced, teen or adult, and attuned to your schedule, these classes (Sailing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, SUP and SUP Yoga) offer a more flexible one-on-one option, or can be set up as semi-private instruction for dedicated (small) groups.

Private classes for a group, though, are limited to max 10 people per class session (Each person is allotted their own vessel/equipment, with the lecture portion held outdoors, and equipment disinfected per the County Order.).

Group Watersports Classes

Registration is now open for the weekend group watersports classes – sessions run from February through November 2021. A great way to get your mind off of everything else, and suitable for teens (age 14+) as well as adults, this assortment (of Sailing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, SUP and SUP Yoga classes) is scheduled on the weekends.

Currently limited to 10 people per session (like their semi-private counterparts), these classes also adhere to the same safety-based restrictions. Weekday Kid & Teen Activities

If you need safe and fun after-school activities for your kids, Shoreline is restarting the 4-Week After-Home School Programs in February – Feb 8th (Mon/Wed Mixed Watersports, ages 8-13) and Feb 9th (Tu/Th Laser Sailing, ages 11-15). 

These programs help replace shuttered team sports programs. Besides burning off energy from being home so much, kids can challenge themselves by learning fundamental skills for a variety of paddlesports and sailing, as well as engage in teamwork and critical thinking, with a bit of friendly competition mixed in. (Plus, kids receive personalized attention in small COVID-19 compliant groups from dedicated staff, and no mixing allowed between the groups.)

Weekend Kid & Teen Camps

Also, starting in March, helping your kids and teens (ages 5-16) burn off even more energy gets a little easier. Two new sessions of these weekend versions of Shoreline's camps are now available (Session 1 - March 20, 21, 27, 28; and Session 2 - April 17, 18, 24, 25).

Covering six Camps Programs, all are COVID-19 compliant organized outdoor sports options (for children ages 5-16), and also provide kids with a chance to get some real social interaction:

• Camp Shoreline
• Paddle Adventure
• Beginner Windsurfing & Sailing
• Advanced Windsurfing & Sailing
• Advanced Sailing (Laser)
• Performance Laser Sailing

Online registration is open.
