A Clear Picture of Peace

The prophetic expectation of God’s coming Messiah to establish God’s rule in this world and usher in the new age was marked by peace.  Christians believe this new age has already begun with the first coming of Jesus (his birth, life, death, and resurrection), though it has not yet been fully realized until Jesus’ returns in glory (his second coming).  Meanwhile, the times overlap.  God’s peace has come to our world, but it is not evident to all. Our Advent and Christmas sermon series will help sharpen our focus of what this picture of God’s peace looks like now and as the future unfolds.

Our spotlight continues to be on contemporary Black authors we read and discuss Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid. A New York Times Bestseller and finalist for the NAACP Image Award, Such a Fun Age is “an entertaining tale with plenty to say about race, human connection, and the pitfalls of good intentions.”

Such a Fun Age is a vivid page turner that is funny and readable while revealing the nuances of some important issues of our time.
