Launch of new Levels of Need guidance

We invite you to book a place at the launch of the new Right Help Right Time Levels of Need (RHRT LON) guidance, which will be taking place virtually on Wednesday 2nd December from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.

If you work with children, young people or families in Herefordshire, and are concerned about a child you will need to check the new Right Help Right Time Levels of Need (RHRT LON) guidance.

We are launching the RHRT LON on Wednesday 2nd December from 1.00pm to 3.00pm and we will have an expert on hand to take you through all aspects of the document and answer any questions that you may have.

There will also be a promotional video, created specially for this event, with Herefordshire professionals discussing a range of case studies, and describing how the new RHRT LON can help in your day to day work.

You will have the opportunity to use the new guidance in test exercises based on real Herefordshire case studies, working with other multi agency practitioners.

If you work with children, young people or families in Herefordshire then this is a must attend event as it will give you the confidence to use the new guidance to get the Right Help at the Right Time for any child or young person that you may be concerned about.

West Mercia Police have asked us to circulate the details of a concerning smartphone app called “cunch line chronicles”, which is a game about running a County Lines (Cunch) operation.

Please be aware of the below app called “cunch line chronicles”. This is a game where you get to run your own county line!! It has an in-chat facility where participants get advice from others as to how best run their line. This obviously also enables grooming and recruitment opportunities for doing the real thing!!
If anyone has come across this app on phone examinations or when dealing with individuals, particularly young people, can you please let me know so that the responses can be collated centrally.  Attempts are being made to shut the App down.

‘Something’s Not Right’ campaign launched

The Home Office has launched a new campaign, 'Something's Not Right' to help secondary school children in England who suffered a range of harms, such as sexual and physical abuse, during lockdown.  The campaign aims to build awareness of the support services available to victims and encourage disclosure of abuse to a trusted adult.

The campaign has been developed in close collaboration with the NSPCC, Barnardo’s, The Children’s Society, Internet Watch Foundation and Marie Collins Foundation.  The campaign’s brand, Something’s Not Right, centres on the insight that children who suffer different forms of abuse may not have the ability to define or describe their experience, but they know the emotions they feel and the sense that something is not right. The campaign will help children to understand what may be causing them to feel these emotions and signpost support.

The campaign webpage has been developed in conjunction with Childline and is hosted on their website.  The page helps children identify different forms of abuse, signposts a variety of online resources and provides guidance on how to seek support, either from a trusted adult or Childline’s services.
