Most BDS Permit Fees Increasing Dec. 1;
You Can Still Submit a Complete Permit Application to Avoid Increases

Many fees charged by the Bureau of Development Services will increase on December 1, 2020. To submit a permit application to be processed under the current fees, follow the guidelines below. Please pay special attention to the date deadlines.

• Customers who request an intake appointment between November 23 and November 25 at 5 p.m. must also upload their complete permit submittal before 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2020. Customers requesting an intake appointment during this time period (between November 23 and November 25 at 5 p.m.) will receive an HCP upload link via email from Permitting Services prior to November 26, 2020. Customers who have uploaded their complete submittal by 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2020, will be vested in the current 2020 fee schedule.
• Customers who request an intake appointment  between 5:01 p.m. on November 25 and 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2020, must also upload their complete permit submittal before 5 p.m. on December 4, 2020. Customers requesting an intake appointment during this time period (between 5:01 p.m. on November 25 to 11:59 p.m. on November 30) will receive an HCP upload link via email from Permitting Services prior to December 1, 2020. Customers who have uploaded their complete submittal by 5 p.m. on December 4, 2020 will be vested in the current 2020 fee schedule.

In order for any project to be vested in the current 2020 fee schedule, all plans and documents must meet submittal requirements.

We are working to make it possible for customers to submit building applications online any time, with no appointment required. We appreciate your flexibility during our software transition! Between December 1 and 11, 2020, customers can request to schedule a future appointment to submit an application via this webform.

As of December 14, 2020, customers will be able to submit building permit applications via DevHub 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no appointment required. We kindly request that customers who wish to submit a building permit application choose only one of these options. Requesting a link to upload plans and submitting plans via DevHub could create unnecessary delays in the processing of your application.
