Dec. 8th Is Fast Approaching

We hope that you have taken advantage of the additional weeks to access all of the pre-recorded and recorded content from our Virtual O'Flaherty Irish Music Retreat. Unfortunately, that access will end on December 8th, so we encourage you to review what you can between now and then. This was the prior arrangement made with our instructors, so we will end access at midnight on December 8th..

You will still be able to access and download MP3s and documents from your core courses. They will still be available in your Google Drive, but not the lesson videos, enrichment classes, informances, concerts and workshops for which you were enrolled.

Another important date coming up is December 12th when our team will have our traditional debrief meeting. It's important that we get your feedback about our event before then. Below is a link (click green button) to our online Student Survey, and we appreciate your taking the time to complete it.

Thanks again for participating this year! Our plan is to have our in-person Retreat on October 21-24, 2021 with some virtual classes offered too. We'll keep you posted as things develop. For now, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and good health as this pandemic runs its course!

Building on the success of our virtual "play along" sessions at the Retreat, we have scheduled weekly sessions on Monday evenings from 7-9 p.m. (CST) beginning December 7th to keep the music going until our next Retreat. Hosts Peggy and Ken Fleming will be joined each week by three guest session leaders with the exception of the last Monday of each month when former Retreat instructors and their guests will be invited to lead the session. Some of the instructors who have said they will participate include Brian Conway, Matt & Shannon Heaton, Andrew Finn Magill, Alan Murray and Alison Perkins among others. Need Videos for Documentary

Earlier we announced that we are producing a documentary about the Retreat and the impact of the pandemic on our instructors both in the U.S. and Ireland. We are searching for homemade videos of students learning from their core course lessons as pictured above. Since the lessons are available until December 8th in Google Classroom, there is still time for you to produce a video. Here are some instructions:

You can use your Smartphone but be sure to record the video in the horizontal orientation.
Please shoot the video in the highest resolution possible.
If you can, turn off "variable frame rate" in your phone's video settings.
The video length should be no more than 15 seconds.
Once your video is done, upload to our DROPBOX account.
Please send us an email letting us know that you submitted a video at info@oflahertyretreat.org.
