Happy Thanksgiving, friend!

I really love Thanksgiving, because (Black Friday not withstanding) it feels unspoilt to me. It's just family, friends, gratitude and great food. You make plans for Christmas and catch up on the cousins.You don't have to worry about finding the perfect present or getting everyone wrestled into matching outfits for photos.

I also love that we eat seasonal, local food during Thanksgiving. With our globally-stocked supermarkets we can eat pretty much anything we want no matter if it's in season or not. We don't realize what a miracle that would have been even just 100 years ago. So I love that connection with the land and the tastes of autumn and the desire to share the bounty and create a well-stocked warmth for body and soul.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year, but it will definitely look different this year. We are all officially out of isolation as of today, although we still have minor lingering effects of this ridiculous virus (headaches, fatigue, and I still can't smell or taste much of anything). Thank you all SO MUCH for praying us through this, friends. We have more than ever to be thankful for this year.
