Times are tough for many people - especially as much of our area deals with the pandemic. We thought it would be nice to focus on the positive and be grateful for the support of the good people we know.

Here are a few quick stories to brighten your day.

Our first story comes courtesy of our good friend Liz Chatterton. Liz became aware of Community Place through her work on the board of Farley's Friends and has done so much for us over the past few years. She topped even her normal generosity this year when she decided to organize a food drive of Thanksgiving meals for the people of Community Place.

She put the word out to her friends and in short time box after box showed up at her door. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, canned corn, yams, green beans, and biscuit mix. (Boxes and bags pictured below).

Her kindness did not stop there - she also collected cash that was turned into over $1000 worth of grocery store gift cards so that people could buy the perishable they would need to complete the dinner.

Times may be tough but with good friends like Liz they get a lot easier.
Story number two is about connections and kind words.

Jason is the General Manager of Longhorn Steak House. They had been donating regularly to another organization but they lost that connection when the pandemic arrived. Community Place was recommended as agency that does great work in the community. They started making regular donations in October.

Thank you Jason and thank you to the person who recommended us!
In our final segment for today we want to thank Tobie Olsan and Brenda Viola. The ran the East Avenue Grocery Run ( a virtual race this year) and did it with a purpose! Together, as a fundraising tag team they raised over $1300 to support food related programs at Community Place and make sure that people in need will be fed.

Thank you for your generosity!!
