Land Owner Transparency Registry (LOTR) Now Available for Required Filings

Filings to LOTR can now be completed in myLTSA including the transparency declaration and transparency report.

Beginning November 30, 2020, the Land Owner Transparency Act (LOTA) requires that when an interest in land is registered in BC’s land title register, a transparency declaration must be filed to LOTR by the transferee(s).  A transparency report must also be filed if a transferee is a reporting body.

REMINDER: Director of Land Titles Issues Update to E-filing Directions

As announced in March, updates to E-filing Directions are now in effect to support the administration of LOTR. This latest revision narrows the exemption of the requirement to electronically file documents. Registered owners will be required to submit a Form C Charge application electronically when the application requires a transparency report under section 12 of LOTA.
