Dear Friends,

I hope you had a happy and safe Thanksgiving, taking a few moments to rest and reflect on positive things. For my family, Thanksgiving is all about making more food than we can possibly consume. The day after Thanksgiving is about getting into the gift giving spirit. We do three things today: 1. Put up a Christmas tree; 2. Go shopping in person to support small businesses in the region; 3. Start to make our holiday donation list for charities we care about.

I hope as you start your holiday shopping today and gift giving this holiday season that you will contribute to Bethesda Green to help us finish 2020, and start 2021, strong. Giving Tuesday is next week… get a jump start today!

With your help in the coming year we will:

• Launch a new, exciting cohort of eco-entrepreneurs in our spring Innovation Lab Accelerator program;
• Complete our work mentoring our current team of Environmental Leaders and launch a new, diverse group in the fall;
• Install new cisterns to help Glen Waye Gardens prevent water pollution and uncontrolled stormwater runoff;
• Create new rain garden conservation landscapes throughout Bethesda roadway medians;
• Help the County finalize and implement new climate action recommendations;
• Expand opportunities for composting throughout the County;
• Install new recycling bins throughout Bethesda;
• And so much more.
