New Board of Trustee Members Take Office
Plainfield Township’s new Board of Trustees has officially taken office following a swearing-in ceremony Nov. 20.
Under state law, township elected officials take office at noon Nov. 20 for their new term. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on indoor gatherings, Friday’s brief ceremony was held outside in front of Township Hall.

Board of Trustees Meeting Rescheduled for Nov. 30
The Nov. 23 Board of Trustees meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. due to technical difficulties.
The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. A link to the meeting can be found here.

Recycling Your Election and Yard Signs
Reminder: You can recycle election and yard signs made from corrugated plastic and metal at the Kent County Recycling Center.
Kent County Public Works has a special collection bin since these signs cannot be placed in your curbside recycling bin or at any regular Kent County Public Works drop-off station.

Kent County Recycling Program Now Accepting Paper Cups
Did you know you now can recycle paper cups?
You should clean and empty paper cups and then place them in your recycling bin or drop them off at one of the county’s recycling centers.

Township Offices Closed for Thanksgiving
The Plainfield Township offices will be closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Township will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30 by appointment only.

Upcoming Meetings
The Township has the following meetings scheduled the remainder of the year. Due to COVID-19, meetings through the end of the year will be held online. Video conferencing services may be used in lieu of or in combination with an in-person meeting, as permitted by Public Act 228 of 2020. Meeting links can be found on plainfieldmi.org.
