Dear <<First Name>>,
Thank you so much for your support and for keeping up with our news all year long. We want to wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to you for being involved in our work, and for helping to make our communities happier, healthier places. You are invited to join us for the grand opening of the Hansen Pond Trail in Acton this Sunday, November 29 from 12 PM to 2 PM. If you joined us on the first walk, we think you'll be impressed with the improvements made by our staff and volunteers! Read below for all the details and other land trust happenings.
Walk at Hansen Pond

Join Three Rivers Land Trust Directors and staff for Trail Opening Day at Hansen Pond Preserve in Acton this Sunday, November 29.

This 2.4-mile round-trip trail brings you to the edge of Hansen Pond, a delightfully isolated 30-acre pond south of the Little Ossipee River in Acton. This moderate-difficulty level trail has been under construction all through the fall season and is now ready for visitors. The trail features some short climbs and uneven footing.

Three Rivers will greet visitors from 12 PM to 2 PM at the parking lot located on the east side of H Road, 0.3 miles north of Anderson Cove Road. Hikers can explore the trail at their own pace and enjoy the scenic views along the trail and at the pond.

The trail will be open year-round to the public, dawn to dusk, and is suitable for hiking, leashed dog walking, skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiles. We have worked with the Mousam Valley Snowmobile Club to ensure this new route will be ready for snowmobile use this winter.

For questions, please call (207) 358-9695 or contact info@3rlt.org. We hope to see you there!

Black Lives Matter Maine Winter Coat Drive

As part of our 2020 commitment to social justice, Three Rivers Land Trust connected with youth activists in Sanford to find ways in which we might work together. Our first step is to make a $500 donation to the winter coat drive they are a part of in conjunction with Black Lives Matter Maine. 100 coats have already been distributed in Sanford, but many families are still in need. As part of Giving Tuesday this year (December 1), would you join us in helping to keep our neighbors warm? Contributions can go to BLM Maine's Venmo account, BLMME, or to its GoFundMe account.

Looking for a Meaningful Holiday Gift?

A gift membership to the land trust is always welcome! We will send a friendly letter to the recipient of your gift, along with a copy of our Quiet Places map, and include this special person in our invitations to walks, paddles, and other outdoor events throughout the year. (If you'd like to do this online, please indicate the gift recipient's name and contact info in the comments box, or give Ruth a call for assistance (207) 370-4191).

A copy of our Farm Breakfast Fundraiser recipe booklet ($10) could also be a good choice for a friend who enjoys cooking and local food. We'll mail it out with a nice note, or send the booklets to you instead, whichever you prefer.

Membership renewal letters for 2021 will arrive in your mailbox very soon! If you'd like to skip the check writing and make your donation online, follow the link. Thank you!
