 Corona Virus Farmer Relief Program

HEADS UP ALASKA FARMS- Coronavirus relief $$ for farms (CFAP 2) NO NEED TO SHOW ANY SALES LOSSES FOR 2020. Specialty crops, livestock, dairy, eggs, aquaculture, and nursery crops and cut flowers. 🍎🥦🥔🌸💐🧅🤠🐕🐄🐖🐓

Deadline is December 11.

PAYMEMTS ARE BASED ON 2019 SALES, not on whether you lost money this year or not. A lot of farmers made as much or more this year, but they are still eligible for these funds. Farmers can use these funds as an investment in our local food infrastructure- Covid taught us how much we need that local food!

For vegetables, fruit, cut flower and aquaculture producers, payments are up to 10.6% of 2019 sales. See sample payment scenarios below. Payments to livestock producers are by the head. Payments to grain producers are by the acre or bushel, depending on the crop: All the details are here https://www.farmers.gov/cfap/faq

Join NSAC, Farm Aid, the Farmers’ Legal Action Group, Intertribal Ag Council, Indigenous Food & Ag Initiative, and RAFI-USA for this webinar recorded on October 13, 2020. It provides an overview of the newly reopened and expanded USDA Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP-2), helping those who work with farmers understand how to advise and support farmers interested in applying for direct aid.
