Advent Bible Study Begins Tonight at 6:30

We know that the holidays will look different this year. And it would be easy for us to focus on what won't happen and feel a sense of loss. Our Advent worship and discipleship emphasis was chosen specifically to help our congregation use this "different" Christmas as a time to make new traditions that allow us to better focus on the true meaning of this season.

Our congregation engaged in the Advent Conspiracy a number of years ago, and many parents and grandparents shared how this helped them de-emphasize the commercial aspect of this season with their children and youth. We hope returning to this theme will help more of our families do the same, this year and into the future.

Our Wednesday night Bible Study will explore the themes of the Advent Conspiracy:

11/18 - Worship Fully (this is our worship emphasis for 11/29)
11/25 - no study
12/2 - Spend Less (this is our worship emphasis for 12/6)
12/9 - Give More (this is our worship emphasis for 12/13)
12/16 - Love All (this is our worship emphasis for 12/20)

All are invited to join this study at 6:30 each week (you can find the Zoom link here). If you are not able to attend, but would like to follow the study, you can purchase the Advent Conspiracy book here. Invite a friend!

Sunday is the last day to make a contribution to the AHUMC Christmas Store. Families from North Hi Mount will be invited to shop our online toy store to select and purchase (at greatly reduced prices) toys for their children.

If you would like to make a financial contribution (we will shop for toys), you can contribute online or mail a check to: 4200 Camp Bowie Blvd, 76107.

If you would like to shop for toys, please bring these to the church by this Sunday, November 22. (It is most helpful if you can purchase the following: Scooters, Legos, Barbies, Board Games for all ages, and Balls.)

This Sunday, our plan is to have Church on the Lawn at 10:30. This will be our Thanksgiving Service, and we look forward to confirming our 9th grade students.

At this time, the forecast calls for rain. Because we cannot safely provide electricity needed for this service in the rain, we will need to cancel the outdoor service if this forecast holds.

Please look for the worship email on Saturday to confirm Church on the Lawn.

Rain or shine, worship will be available online.
