Thought for the Day
How’s your “handwriting on the wall” project coming along this week? What words of praise and gratitude fill your post-it notes? During this season when our attention is drawn to the pandemic and the rising numbers, it is vital that we stop and give God our thanks for his daily blessings!
And let me remind you of a couple points to ponder from our study last Sunday. Don’t forget that you are never too old to be used by God. I talk to a lot of older folks who feel it is time to step aside and let others serve the Lord. If that’s you, stop right there. Our age is immaterial to God. Don’t just retire; retool. Take your newfound freedom from a full time job and invest that freedom in making a difference for the Lord. Who knows, your current season might be your greatest season in serving the Savior!
And don’t forget that you are never too insignificant to be overlooked by God. You may feel that you have little to offer God, but little is much when God is in it. The Lord always knows who you are and where you are. If God knows every tiny sparrow that falls from the sky and if he knows every hair on our head (which changes daily), it is inconceivable that he would lose track of you. You matter to him; after all, he gave his Son to save us from sin. Such an eternal investment demands his perfect oversight.
