Sexual Health & Bleeding Disorders!

Hemophilia Ontario Invited Us!
Join us for our exciting new webinar Sexual Health and Bleeding Disorders – Joint Health, Adapting to Injury, and Patient Perspectives on
Thursday December 3 from 6:00pm-7:30pm.
Hemophilia Ontario is very excited to present our Sexual Health Panel and Webinar – the first of its kind in Ontario! Sex is something that isn’t talked about enough in our community and we are pleased to be able to open up this topic and begin to explore the impact on quality of life that bleeding disorders have.
For this session we are bringing together a panel that includes both healthcare and patient perspectives. Our speaker panel will be Greig Blamey PT,CHT, Amy Griffith and Chad White. Greig Blamey is a physiotherapist at the Hemophilia Treatment Centre in Winnipeg, an experienced speaker on issues of sexual health and bleeding disorders, who will provide the clinical perspective. We will also be hosting two longstanding volunteers and members of our community, Amy Griffith and Chad White, to showcase the patient experience.
Please Note: your name and contact information are only used for registration purposes. Your name will not be viewable to other participants during the webinar unless you choose to participate in the chat.

Research Survey: For Canadians with inherited bleeding disorders

What is important for good patient-physiotherapist relationships?

A team of researchers from the University of Alberta are doing a research project to better understand patient-physiotherapist relationships in the care of people with bleeding disorders.

They are inviting people who have had 3 or more appointments with the same physiotherapist to complete a one-time survey. The study is open to anyone with an inherited bleeding disorder, who is 16 years of age or older.

The survey is anonymous, your physiotherapist and any members of the clinic team will not have access to your responses. It will take around 15-20 minutes to complete.

If you would like to participate, please follow the survey link below: https://ca.surveygizmo.com/…/Physiotherapy-Therapeutic-Rela…
to learn more and complete the survey.

A paper copy of the survey is available from Erin McCabe (contact information below). You may also contact her for more information about this research.

2020 Volunteer Appreciation Event

Thank you to Katherine and Bruce Cameron  for a great Volunteer Appreciation on Monday November 16th. Thank you to Bev Jones for helping to create tasteful, yet funny COVID bingo phrases and Tony Tavares was hysterical as the bingo caller! The scavenger hunt was so much fun and it was so good to visit with 22 of the amazing people who make all the work that the Chapter does, possible. Hopefully we can be together in person next year!

GivingTuesday is December 1st!

GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that happens each year after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s a time when Canadians, charities and businesses come together to celebrate giving and participate in activities that support charities and non-profits.

There is no “right” way to participate as long as it supports generosity and giving. Donate, volunteer time, help a neighbour, or spread the word.

Would you consider volunteering for CHS-MC?

We have many opportunities for volunteers from episodic volunteering at fundraisers to Board Director positions and everything in between. Have a look at the Chapter’s Volunteer Opportunities or call the Chapter office at 204.775.8625 to talk to us.
