From the Principal

Dear Parkview Families,

Due to the rapidly rising Covid-19 case rates in our community, last night our District 196 School Board approved the transition for elementary schools to change to distance learning beginning Monday, November 23.
There will be no school for elementary and early childhood students only on November 19 and 20 to give teachers time to prepare for the move to full-time distance learning. Child care for Tier I critical workers will not be offered November 19 or 20, but will resume November 23 for eligible students in grades K-6.

Our teachers and staff at Parkview will be working over the next three days to plan for a smooth transition for our students and families. We will be sharing details of our Distance Learning plan and expectations for students and schedules very soon.

Thank you for your patience and support.

In Partnership,
Nicole Garcia, Principal

This Week

No School: Today or Tomorrow

There is no school—no distance learning, no in-person classes—on Thursday, November 19 or Friday, November 20 while teachers prepare for distance learning.

Meal Kits Available During Distance Learning!

Beginning Nov. 19, all students are eligible for free seven-day meal kits to support their learning during full-time distance learning. Meal kits will be available for pick-up at any District 196 school. The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture has authorized funding for schools to provide meals at no charge to children, 18 and younger, for the entire school year. All families are encouraged to participate in this opportunity.

Direct Contribution Campaign Deadline EXTENDED!

We have raised just over $2,500 via our Direct Contribution Campaign so far. Will you help us get closer to our goal?  The campaign will remain open until Wednesday, November 25th. All donations go directly to fund the budget (less paypal fees).

We do have a paypal link available. A paypal account is not needed to use it. Credit or debit card donations are able to be made using paypals platform. An envelope was also attached to our fliers to send checks and cash back to school for the PTO. Thank you for your consideration!

Ski Club Coordinator Needed

In order to have a ski club this year, we are in need of a coordinator. This person would work with Buck Hill (or others) to coordinate dates, chaperones, and sign ups for Parkview students to ski. If you are interested, or would like more information, please email parkviewelempto@gmail.com

Box Tops Accepted!

This is just a reminder that Parkview can still get credit for Box Tops.  They are now submitted via scanning your store receipt through the online order form available through the Box Tops app, which can be found in your App store.
