First Baptist Church Weekly Update 

News and Information:

  • Tonight at 5:30 is Family Night. If you are joining us for supper the fees are $4/plate or $20/family. Following there are activities for all ages!
  • We have begun an ongoing list for the monthly workday, so if you become aware of something that needs attention at the Church, can you please call it in so we can make a work order? 
  • We need volunteers! This year on December 6th, 5 pm, we will be hosting the Living Nativity! We need carolers, angels, shepherds, and Wise Men!
  • The HCPMA is requesting tuna as the monthly collection item. 
  • Please continue to bring your aluminum cans, every little bit throughout the year helps offset the cost of OCC shipping. We were able to pack a whopping 200 boxes this year! 
  • We will continue accepting donations for the spring OCC yard sale, please contact Jan or Florance to schedule a pick-up or drop off.

Prayer Requests:
If you have any prayer requests please let the office know by Wednesday.
  • Pray for Liam, the child who had an accident at the Fall Festival. Please pray that he will regrow muscle without intervention
  • Please pray for the children who will receive our shoebox gifts. Ask God to prepare their hearts to receive His love.
  • Please pray for all those who have contracted COVID in our midst. Pray also for our missionary and international brothers and sisters in Christ who may be suffering as well who do not have access to medical care.  
  • Continue to pray for Kathleen Davis' co-worker and her family who are in a high-risk category and have been exposed to the virus, please pray that they remain well and their niece continues to recover.
  • Please continue to pray for a full recovery for Martin Hernandez, and that he will quickly heal and return to our fellowship.
  • Becky Aikin had back surgery.  Please pray along with her for a full and speedy recovery.
  • Pray for peace for Diana Boyette and her family after the passing of her daughter, Michelle.
  • Remember Stcy Ackerman, in your prayers. Sumie's daughter had quadruple bypass surgery Thursday. Pray for a fast recovery.
  • Pray for Mary Minor, Lori Simmons' mother that she will listen to doctors' advice. 
  • Please hold Linda Warner and her son Ryan in your prayers as she begins her journey to battle a large growth on her brain stem. There was a setback this week. She was scheduled for surgery but was unfortunately unable. She is currently in ICU.
  • Pray for Michiko Cunningham and her grandson, he was in an explosion accident in his home and was burned over 80% of his body. He is recovering and will be moving to physical therapy from ICU Wednesday. Michiko is going to be returning home so please pray for traveling mercies.
  • Prayers for LaChresia Bogardus as she recovers from knee surgery.
  • Teresa Cartwright's mom, Maggie, fell yesterday at her home and is unable to do anything on her own. Please pray for a quick recovery with no more complications of any kind and strength for the family.
