How do we support our Summerfair mission?

We support our Summerfair mission with the support of our Green Shirt Members. It is with much sadness that I let you know that we have lost one of our great, long-time volunteers. Suzanne Bovard was always there when we needed a helping hand. We were so lucky to have her warm smile and bubbly personality at so many events. She has remembered us as you will read below.

~ Thank you dear friend ~ You will be missed ~

1948 – 2020

Fort Wright – Suzanne Wray Bovard, 72, of Fort Wright, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born March 29, 1948, to the late Edward and Frances Wray.

Suzanne is survived by her loving husband: Gary Bovard, her beloved children: Christopher (Amber) Bovard and Anna (Zachary) Eades, her cherished grandchildren: Alison and Ruby Bovard, and Lewis and Adeline Eades, her dear siblings: James (Charlene) Wray, William Wray, and Barbara Shinn, her dog: Buddy, and several other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services for Suzanne will be handled in private, but they will stream live on YouTube on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM. To watch the graveside service live, go to YouTube and search “Linnemann Funerals Live” and you will be able to stream live as the service takes place. Live stream will start approximately at 1:50 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Summerfair Cincinnati at 7850 Five Mile Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45230 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Kenton County Animal Shelter at 1020 Mary Laidley Rd, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017.

From The Managing Director

We are excited to be having our "Holiday Virtual Event". Social media is ablaze with details of this upcoming opportunity. Our artists need to connect with our patrons who need to fufill their gift lists and find that special something for their home or themselves. If you go to Summerfair.org (starting November 26th) you will see details and be directed to the full list. Please share with everyone you know. And if you've been good (or not) select something for yourself!

December 1st is always when Zapplication goes live for artists to apply for our Fair. This year will be no exception, even though there will be a twist. All the "Invited" artists from 2020 will have the first chance to fill the booth spaces. The rest of the applicants will be juried to fill the remainder of the spaces or be placed on our "Waitlist" as usual. Now all we need is to be able to have our event in as normal of a way as possible.

The 2021 Summerfair poster competition is in full swing. We already have several entries and I'm sure there is a winner within!

As for the 2021 Emerging Artist Exhibition, plans are in the works to make this a virtual event. Details on how this will work will be announced in December.

Have a safe Holiday Season so we can gather in January to select our 2021 poster!

6 months, 2 weeks and 3 days until Summerfair 2021.

Peace ~ Love ~ Art
