We have received confirmation from SF today that as of now, there is no plan for SF to close outdoor dining, even if California places us back a tier to the PURPLE tier. As of now SF County is classified in the RED, but because SF has already closed down indoor dining effective Saturday, November 14th, we are already only allowing restaurants to operate for outdoor dining, take out & delivery. Let us know if anyone has any questions. Of course, things can always change, but this is good news for now!
Please remember that for parklets you can only have 1 tent side & 1 roof. More than 1 tent side is NOT allowed: Please refer to page 9 of the 30-page Dining guidance, which states: 4.5. Umbrellas, canopies, and other shade structures are allowed only if they do not have more than one vertical side and allow for the free flow of air through the space. Also, the number and composition of barriers used for all outdoor shelters must allow the free flow of air in the breathing zone consistent with guidance from the Department of Public Health.
