SCHOOL NEWS & EVENTS MESSAGE
|
|
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend and spent some well-deserved time with family and friends now that restrictions continue to ease.
Daniel Andrew’s announcement yesterday saw the easing of wearing masks, people coming to visit you at home and an increase in the amount of people you can socialise and interact with in public places. This is all very exciting and just in time for the commencement of Christmas celebrations and catch ups.
Implication for us as a school are limited. We have not had any further directives from the Department of Education regarding the easing of restrictions onsite, so will continue to ensure that parents are not coming on to the school grounds, and dropping students at the gate. The only exemption to this is our new prep families for 2021. They are able to access school grounds (not buildings) to support dropping their child off at the Getting Started program. We look forward to again welcoming them on Friday morning, and will update families to any changes in this program this week as they come to light.
The Grade 6 students are currently working extremely hard putting together presentations for their graduation in a couple of weeks. The students will attend school on Thursday December 10th to undertake their graduation ceremony. This will be filmed and then edited for families to enable them to watch together from Tuesday December 15. We are encouraging families to enjoy this celebration at home together with their graduating student. It is a shame we are unable to have guests at this event but will ensure it is a special evening and celebration for all.
Next Monday Grade 5/6 head to Anglesea for a 3-day camp. We have been lucky enough to arrange a fabulous 3-day program run by Go Ride A Wave, which I am sure will be a great event to finish off the year that has been. Mr Barclay and I are especially looking forward to our surfing lesson with students on the Tuesday. Wish us luck!!! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff involved in the organisation of this, and in particular Ange Walsh for the countless hours she has put in to ensure this is a well organised and eventful camp.
With under 4 weeks to go, it is important that students are attending school every day and arriving to school on time. Teaching staff are just finalising reports and assessments. The reports will be live on Compass Wednesday December 16 for parents/carers to view.

It is only for 50% of the yearly amount ($62.50). You can email or contact the Administration office if you would like a form or I have attached a copy HERE.
