Trinity Church Sutton
Dear Friend
We are currently unable to meet for worship because of government restrictions on movement to curb the coronavirus pandemic, so a new video of worship will be published here on Sunday, which is the Feast of Christ the King, otherwise the last Sunday before Advent.  Its controlling lesson is Matthew’s vision of the Last Judgement in Matthew 25: 31-46.

Dr Joyce Popoola, a student minister living in Putney, beginning her studies with Hannah at Queens Foundation Birmingham for the Methodist ministry, has approached us and we have agreed to be her link church during her training.  This is primarily a supportive role for Trinity Church but we will benefit from sharing fellowship with her. I hope there will be an opportunity to introduce her to you in person in due course.

Please watch out on this website and our electronic weekly newsletter for any news of resumption of live worship in church.  It remains uncertain whether this will be possible at the beginning of December.  During this second lockdown, please keep in touch with each other by telephone.  If you want to contact me the best way continues to be by email at todaviddickinson@gmail.com or on 020 8643 6884.
Yours,
            Dave

Coffee and Chat

During this lockdown period, the Coffee and Chat Zoom meetings will be held on Sunday mornings directly following the online service.

Dial a service!   If you know anyone who would like to be able to listen to our recorded services, but who doesn't have internet access, we now have a solution for them too - please let them know!  Simply phone 020 3319 1332 at any time and listen to hear a recording of the most recent service at Trinity.   The cost is that of a local call, which for many people will be free.
Call after 1.00pm on Sunday by which time that morning's service should be available.
Christmas cards at Trinity

There will be an opportunity to send greetings to everyone at Trinity through the church website.  You will be able to chose a design and write your own greeting to be displayed on a page on the website. Examples of the designs are below.  Click here to choose your card and send your greetings.

The cards have been designed by two members of our congregation, David Ovenden and John Wroe.  They have nominated two charities to which you are invited to make a donation - Emmaus or Sutton Mental Health Foundation.

Sutton Cruse and the Co-op

Sutton Cruse is delighted that they have been selected to be a beneficiary of the local Co-op Community Fund.  If you would like to support them and are not already registered as a Co-op member, please go to this link to register.  If you are a member please go to this link and select Sutton Cruse as your chosen charity.  When members buy selected Coop brand products and services, the Co-op will give Sutton Cruse much needed funds to help them continue to support bereaved people locally.

Churches together in South London

There are two more events coming up online through this organisation on Monday 30 November and Wednesday 2 December.  Details of these events and how to book can be found at this link.
November Ecotip - The world of fashion
It is estimated that  in the UK we send clothing worth £140 million every year to landfill.  To avoid this:
  • Look after your clothes, wash and repair them carefully
  • Buy fewer and better quality clothes which you can wear for years. Look for sustainably and ethically made clothes eg from Traidcraft or Thought
  • Buy from vintage or charity shops. Oxfam has an online shop if you prefer to shop from home. Alternative secondhand options online are sites such as VintedDepop and eBay, all of which have a wide variety of secondhand clothing sold by others (and you can sell your pre loved clothes too!)
