The Vermont Department of Public Health and Haymarket Foundation are funding the Clemmons Family Farm to offer a free wellness arts series for Black Vermonters:
The sessions will be held on Zoom in November and December and are led by some of the collaborating artists in our network. Every participant will receive a wellness arts kit full of wonderful healing arts items specially curated by each of the artists.

The Prism Center is so excited to be hosting a series of affinity spaces for our LGBTQIA2S+ UVM student community this year! This affinity space meets once a month as an opportunity for Bisexual, Pansexual, and other students who identify with middle sexuality to gather socially in community with one another and have thoughtful conversations about their experiences centered on specific topics.
They’ll be meeting on Wednesdays 9/30, 10/28, and 12/2 from 3:30-4:30pm. Our first meeting will be in-person and the rest will be virtual.

Download the Localvore app on your phone where you can sign up for meal vouchers and local restaurants like Skinny Pancake, Single Pebble, etc. give out meals (you just call and schedule a time for pick up.)

Shift Meals
Everyone Eats is a program for “everyone” negatively impacted by COVID-19. You are eligible to receive meals if COVID-19 has made it harder to get food or you are experiencing food insecurity. Help yourself, help your community!
Sweetwaters (120 Church Street Burlington, Vermont)
This is the 30th year Sweetwaters will serve free Thanksgiving meals and hold a coat drive!
You can get delicious and free Thanksgiving meals at Sweetwaters on 11/26 from 10am-2:30pm(first come first serve) or get a free coat from 8am-10am, or both!
To donate your warm, clean coats (no windbreakers, lightweight jackets, or other types of clothing), drop off your coats at Sweetwaters 11am-9pm daily until noon on 11/25.
ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain (1 College St, Burlington, VT)
Meal distribution at ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain will take place from 10am-1pm on the following dates:

Tuesday, December 1st
Tuesday, December 8th
Food is first come, first serve and to be picked up in the lobby. You do not need to sign-up ahead of time to receive a meal.
Please note that ECHO is closed to admissions during these dates.

Intervale Barn (180 Intervale Rd Burlington)
Starting November 2nd!
Every Monday from 4-6pm there will be free meals for pick-up at the Intervale Barn Starting 11/2 – 12/7 with the exception of 11/23.
The restaurants providing meals will rotate each week.

Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship 2022-2023 application period is now open! Sea Grant Knauss Fellowships are prestigious one-year, paid fellowships with hosts in executive or legislative offices in Washington, DC. Graduate students from all disciplines who are interested in ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources and national policy decisions are welcome to apply. Students need to have aligned career goals and leadership experience, but they do not need experience in policy or water science.

What is EDHC? A collection of Equal Employment Opportunity affirmative action programs with a primary objective to increase training and employment opportunities for women, minorities, and other disadvantaged individuals who are underrepresented in the highway construction industry.
Eligible candidates must be a woman, minority and/or disadvantaged person. A disadvantaged person is defined as someone who is participating in a Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) program through a state Department of Labor. | COMMERCIAL DRIVER TRAINING |
DOT Transportation Safety Courses (online)
AdvanceOnline offers transportation safety training. CMV Driver and CMV Motor Carrier Management courses cover the DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and best practices that impact safety ratings of motor carriers and commercial motor vehicle drivers. Their HAZMAT transportation courses discuss the regulations for transporting hazardous materials.

VTrans CDL Funding Program (for in-person courses)
On a continuous basis, we offer funding (up to $1,500) to eligible participants to use towards the cost of CDL classes through six state-approved Commercial Driver Training Schools. Please visit our website for more information.
If you are working towards earning your CDL permit, we recommend you spend time studying the Vermont Commercial Driver's Manual.

My name is Teresa and I am the manager of the NextGen Leaders Initiatives at Disability:IN where we provide free mentorship, career development, and job opportunities for college students and recent grads, including veterans, with disabilities. As a Black disabled woman, I participated in this program years ago and am passionate about ensuring other people with disabilities, especially disabled people of color, have access to this mentorship and career development program.
We would love to have disabled students, alumni, and veterans at University of Vermont take part in our 2021 NextGen Leaders program.
