A Look Back at 2020

2020 brought many challenges for us all, but our global team of scientists didn't slow down the vital work of advancing non-animal test methods. This year, we published six papers, hosted seven webinars, presented more than a dozen posters and oral presentations, and handed out an Early-Career Scientist Award. See a full list of our highlights from the year here.

Call for Data

DEADLINE EXTENDED: To reduce the number of animals used in aquatic toxicity tests, the Science Consortium (on behalf of the International Council on Animal Protection in OECD Programmes) and the United States are leading an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) project investigating whether it is possible to use only one control when a solvent is used in such tests. If you can contribute OECD Test Guideline 210 data in response to the OECD's call for data by 15 December, or if you would like more information, please click here.

Updates

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has expanded its guidance to allow waivers for the acute dermal toxicity test for pesticide formulations and active ingredients after an analysis conducted with the NTP Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods showed that the test generally does not provide added protection in pesticide risk assessment.
