Considerations

I’m sitting at home and see the leaves fall off the trees and the rain falling most of the days. This time of the year is what they call the “in-between period”. We are busy wrapping-up and evaluating the past year, but also making plans for the coming years.

And what a rollercoaster year we have had this year. Starting with a complete lockdown with no cricket at all, then rapidly evolving into a short but very busy cricket season with a spectacular T 20 final. Also, we welcomed our 100th youth member, a big milestone.

As treasurer of the club, I am happy we had a solid financial year due to the many government support arrangements and of course the massive support of you as members.
Now we are looking at the future. Good news about a possible vaccin gives hope for a “normal cricket year”.  And with the spirit we have seen this past year I see good times ahead. Please read the plans we have developed as a Board for the years to come and provide us with your feedback during the GMM on November 24, hopefully the first and last one we have to do online.

Geert Rutgers, Treasurer VCC

Reminder: GMM at November 24 at 8 pm via Zoom

  • If you are uncomfortable, let us know and we'll help

Join the tax-friendly donation scheme to help realise our indoor facility

For only 37,50 euro per quarter for 5 years you raise 1500 euros for the club. How that works? Read below or ask Richard de Lange, pr@voorburgcc.nl. It will be a great help in realising the indoor facility.

Walk and talk

In these times of lockdowns it may be good to go out and have a chat. VCC will start a Walk & Talk initiative. Every Wednesday ar 12.30 pm we gather at the parking lot of Wilhemus and walk in groups of max 4 for 30-45 mins. Bring your own lunch! We'll try to make sure one Board Member is always present. Please send an email to pr@voorburgcc.nl if you want to join.

Responsible Coaching & Parenting

You are warmly invited to join the free Responsible Coaching & Parenting webinars that are organised by Gary Kirsten and his coaching team. Highly recommended! Go to https://garykirsten.com/webinars/ to register for one of the sessions.

Rabobank supports VCC with 750 euro

In its annual ClubSupport campaign the Rabobank has awarded VCC with a cheque of 750 euro for which we are very grateful obviously.

VCC juniors in Dutch selections

The KNCB anounced the selection for the Dutch Lions and Lionesses winter training squads. No less than 22 boys and girls will take part in the practice sessions in the VOC indoor hall in Rotterdam. We're the leading supplier of youth talent and that is a big compliment for our coaching staff and the players who put in a lot of effort. Well done all!

Who is representing VCC in the national selections?

Junior indoor practice

For the first time in more than 10 years VCC wil not start the regular winter training around November 1. Due to the Corona virus, the indoor sessions have been postponed till at least January 2021.

Why it has been postponed ...

Who thinks marketing & sponsoring is good fun?

Have you always been fascinated by (digital) marketing? Do you enjoy positioning VCC in/on (social) media, on the web, this newsletter etc.
Or are you the go-getter who acquires additional revenue streams for VCC? Are you someone who can think what the club can bring to sponsors (exposure, hospitality, clinics etc.) and convince companies of that? Then please express your interest to become part of the marketing&sponsoring committee via pr@voorburgcc.nl.
Clinics
Do you know a company that wants a staff or company outing, brainstorming, breakout or team building session? But then "different", stylish, active and really fun? Consider a cricket clinic at the beautiful accommodation of Voorburg CC. For more information, check this or contact the club.
Who wants to join VCC?
VCC is still growing and we want to continue to grow in particular in our junior section. We now have a bit more than 100 juniors, and we want to to grow this steadily, so in the end we have in each age category at least two teams.
Are you interested? Or do you want to follow a trial practice? Send an email to jeugdcommissie!
