SPECIAL NOTICE: Thanksgiving Dinner - Pick-up at Fire Station on Saturday, November 21 - This wonderful meal of turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and apple pie will be distributed via drive-by. This meal is sponsored by the CCHS Student Government, CCHS Parents Association, Carlisle Council on Aging, and the Friends of the Carlisle Council on Aging. If you have registered and can’t participate, call the COA. There is a waitlist.
 
UPDATE: Wednesday In-person Support Group Cancelled - Call the COA for information about the Tuesday on-line sessions.

This Week Only - No live exercise classes.

UPDATE: Exercise Classes - December, January and February: All of these classes will move to Zoom format.  These sessions will be $40 for the session.  If you haven’t been participating, but would like to join via Zoom, call the COA to register.  Link here if you need help with Zoom. New people are needed for almost all of these classes especially Tai Chi and Tap. 

 Saturday, December 5 First Religious Society Greens Sale Pick-up - Link here to order (through Friday, December 4) decorated and plain wreaths of different sizes, roping, and swags in addition to traditional ginger bread house kits, fresh baked goods, and some gifts. The Junior Youth Group is collecting gently used clothing for City Reach. Bring gently used men’s clothing items with you when you pick-up.  Weather permitting, there will also be local artisans on hand when you pick up your items.  They will be offering their own creations to help you get your holiday shopping started. 
 
Monday, December 7 Medicare Open Enrollment Ends - Review your choices on Medicare.gov or call the COA to talk with our Shine Counselor.

Tuesday, December 8 Emerson Auxiliary Tree of Lights - 4:30pm Live via Zoom - Over thirty years ago, the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital began lighting the evergreen tree outside the main entrance in honor and memory of loved ones and significant people who have touched lives. The funds raised from this community-wide event will support Pediatric Care at Emerson Hospital. Consider donating a Light or a Star in honor or memory of a hospital hero or someone special: family members, friends and loved ones, special teachers and mentors, colleagues, neighbors, and pets. Volunteer for the COA - Do you have some time that you might be available to volunteer?  The Council on Aging can always use volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels, help with programs, and so much more.  If you have a talent and are willing share it (play music, sing, provide a lecture or program) or can help with any of the above, call the COA 978-371-2895 to discuss.

  • 11:00 Social Support Group Session I - Until 11:45am live via ZOOM - Eight sessions will each consist of a short presentation on a subject related to how to meet the challenge of the pandemic followed by discussion. Monday, December 7 Haircuts on the Go - Fire Station - Suzanne Hickey & Georgia Triantafilles provide haircuts to seniors. Please rest assured that safety precautions will be in place (chairs and instruments cleaned between appointments, face shields, masks & gloves used, etc.). You are required to wear a mask and remain in your car until contacted to enter. Fee: $12 for a cut (+ tip, if you wish). Call the COA 978-371-2895 for your appointment and more details.
 
Monday, December 7 Community Book Club - 10:30am via Zoom - Lost in Shangri-La by Mitchell Zuckoff. No commitment required.  You don’t even have to have read the book to go to the meetings, but you may come out of the discussion wanting to read it.  Sponsored jointly by the COA and the Gleason Public Library. Mindfulness, the practice of focusing on the present moment, can quiet your mind and help you feel calmer. Join us to practice a mindful breathing exercise and a five-minute sitting meditation. Friday, December 11 thru Sunday, December 13 10th Annual Holiday Concord House Tour - On-line - Sponsored by the Concord Museum Guild of Volunteers - Ellen Whitney, guide of the virtual Garden Tour, returns to guide participants through each of six Concord homes decorated for the holidays with boundless charm, creativity, and the joys of the season, offering fascinating insights and helpful tips along the way.
