Bilgola Newsletter 20th November

 Patrol News

Last Saturday saw SARX (Search and Rescue Training)  conducted at Avalon Beach. Together with neighbouring Surf Clubs, Bilgola participated in specific search, rescue and recovery drills. Teams were put through their paces around the rock shelf and trainers provided feedback to help patrollers refine their skills and capabilities. An extremely valuable day to truly understand the full capabilities of our rescue craft and equipment.

Josh Farr - patrol 7 said..."The SARX exercise at Avalon was a great experience as we had the opportunity to search and train off the headland and rocks which was very different to any training we have previously completed..."

Jarrah Turner - patrol 8 said..."It was really interesting to see what was achievable as this was a fairly difficult exercise with the craft and equipment that we have..."

The team will transfer their newfound training back into the club and we will share some of the new techniques within patrols.

Finally, the weather has turned in our favour!

It was a fantastic first round of Club Champs last weekend. The conditions couldn't be better.

This couldn't of been pulled off without the amazing support of our Age Managers, Juniors Committee and our Director of Club Lifesaving, Adrian Wegrzyn who helped coordinate patrollers/cadets to help with water safety. And lastly but not least to Ricky Rogers  Patrol Captain and of course Dave Madew and IRB Drivers/crew.

It was so great to see so many groups competing in the swim and board around the buoy. Even the U10s - some of them for the very first time!!

Competition news: (insert photos)
We had 3 Under 10 girls compete in the Junior Beach Only Carnival at Queenscliff last week - Katarina Navakas, Lyla Rosser and Kyla Hogan.  It was their first every competition, and the girls did an amazing job with Katarina making the top 16 in the flags.

Nth Steyne Water Carnival is this Sunday, 22nd. We wish Fletcher Hole and Madison Perry the best of luck.

Please remember to keep COVID-safe.  We thank all that are helping us achieve this on Nipper Sundays.

Don't forget to COVID pre register for every Nippers Sunday at Bilgolaslsc.org.au.

For those that didn't receive their photo/medallion or award from the 2019-2020 season, they can collect from the club from this Sunday.

Please save the date - Sunday, December 19th - Xmas function.  This will be a ticketed function at the Club for our Nippers/parents.  More details to come in the coming days.

Looking forward to another great Sunday.

See you at the beach.

Ray White Now

There are many reasons for the current buyer demand. The most significant of these reasons relate to finance.

With interest rates at all time lows and with banks being supportive of purchasers, we are seeing many buyers wanting to take advantage of these factors. Obtaining secure credit on excellent terms while they are available, is certainly influencing demand. This is not only the case with first home buyers, but across all sectors of the market. Fortunately, we continue to see confidence in buyers with job security working in industries not materially impacted by the current economic environment.
