Adapting for 2021

We have all needed to adapt this year. We are working remotely, missing our family and friends, cancelling vacations. We’ve learned to shop efficiently, remember our masks, and have even discovered new hobbies and talents.

But it’s been easier for some more than others.

Conservation Corps North Bay’s diverse population of corpsmembers is disproportionately impacted by the virus, with higher infection rates in many of their neighborhoods making existing obstacles like access to childcare and transportation even harder to navigate, further jeopardizing their pathway out of poverty.

"I don't know what I would do without CCNB supporting us. This has been a really tough time for me." – Corpsmember Maria G.

To help clear the way, CCNB has pivoted to keep corpsmembers working and learning, preparing them to enter a workforce that is changing dramatically as the pandemic rages on. While our communities struggle to balance public health priorities with economic stability and the threat of wildfire, we are delivering services through distance learning, virtual case management and workshops, and adding vehicles, staff, and PPE to ensure safety in the field.

Maintaining this consistent level of programming comes at a cost. As we look ahead to a year of uncertainty, you can help corpsmembers overcome these additional challenges by making a donation today.

Your gift today will help us continue to invest in the young people who are working so hard in their own back yards while gaining the skills they need to earn a living wage, break the cycle of poverty, and achieve financial independence.
