From Mr. Phillips, Head of School

As we approach the Christmas season, I wanted to share a poem that my headmaster, from when I was in elementary school, wrote on a bus trip to a basketball game. I hope you enjoy this season and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.

“The Night After Christmas”

‘Twas the night after Christmas, and all through the town’
            Not much was stirring, but the Lord had come down.
Mary was caring for the Babe on the hay;
            In the lowly cow stable where they had to stay.

The angels made no appearing this night;
            Their message delivered – O, what a sight.
To herald the birth of the Savior did they sing;
            A choir straight from heaven had been sent for the King.

The shepherds were back with their flocks on the hill;
            Their hearts were so thrilled, ‘twas hard to be still.
The promised Messiah in Beth’lem they’d found;
            To tell the good news, they were now duty-bound.

The Magi were trav’ling across desert wide,
            His star in the heavens their compass and guide.
Precious gifts for the King were stored in their sacks;
            As westward they moved, sand cov’ring their tracks.

Many on earth had gone to their rest;
            Not realizing the Savior was now in their midst.
The Treasure from heaven, for sinners far and wide;
            Sheltered that night by His dear mother’s side.

Joseph looked down from near in the stable;
            The angelic message to him, he now knew was no fable.
The Babe’s little eyes were set and so still;
            But likely were looking toward Golgotha’s hill.

Yes, the fullness of time to earth had now come;
            God had sent forth His only begotten Son.
To live in perfection, then die on the tree;
            To bring salvation to sinners like me.

What about this night after Christmas – this year?
            Is the Savior a stranger, or do you hold Him dear?
Do you know Him as Savior, as King, and as Lord?
            Are you trusting completely in God’s Living Word?

Heaven and hell hang in the balance you see;
            Since the Savior has come and died on the tree.
Victorious over the grave He arose;
            Now we must choose Him, or heaven we lose.

He’s yonder in heaven, preparing a place;
            For lost sinners, saved by His matchless grace.
Oh, friend, if you don’t know Him, by now – this date;
            Won’t you accept Him, before it’s too late!

Middle and High School News

It is hard to believe that we have completed the first half of the school year. The Lord has richly blessed us with a safe and productive semester. I am proud of our Middle and High School students as they have navigated the challenges of our world and kept a focus on their education. Parents, we also want to express our gratitude for the many ways that you have supported and encouraged us. I hope you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy time with your family as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

 Merry Christmas,
 Mr. Larry Ford, Middle and High School Principal

Daycare & Preschool News

 We were overjoyed to be able to spread joy and the Gospel to children around the world as we "wrapped" up Operation Christmas Child in November. Our prayer is that children across the world would be reached with the Gospel of Jesus with hope of eternal life. Throughout the daycare, our families as well as individual classes have taken part in filling boxes to serve children around the world with this very message. Thank you to all the families and classrooms that have participated across the scope of CBS.  December brings us great joy to celebrate the life of Jesus. Daycare classes are engaged in learning about Christ's birth and reason for the season. Christmas will be celebrated in classes closer to the Christmas holiday. Families, keep an eye out for information for the celebrations ahead.  Reminder we will be closed Dec 23,24,25, 31 and Jan 1.  Thank you all for your partnership in laying a strong foundation for our children. We are grateful for you entrusting us with the next generation.
