It is important for us that the research projects are aware of how the centre coordinators can support them within research data management, cross-disciplinary and cross-projects activities, innovation, industry collaboration, responsible research and innovation (RRI) and career development. IPR in digital biotech: Give your input on planned webinars
We are planning an educational webinar series on intellectual property rights (IPR) in digital biotech. There are many challenges in tailoring an IPR strategy in a transdisciplinary field, and our aim is to give some advice on the matter. In order to give relevant insights, we are looking for one or two challenging real-life examples within the centre. If you are struggling with strategic decisions on IPR, e.g. choice of open data versus patents, combined protection of algorithms and medical device or finding a good IP strategy in precision medicine, and would like to work with us and our partner in this work, the Norwegian Industrial Property Office, please contact Beate Rygg Johnsen b.r.johnsen@medisin.uio.no.

Centre leader in public gene technology committee
Centre leader Trygve Brautaset, who is professor in synthetic biology at NTNU, is one of the members of a new public gene technology committee. The committee will deliver a report by June 2022 on gene technology, new techniques and the regulation of genetically modified organisms. Read more on regjeringen.no (in Norwegian)

Centre coordinator in international advisory board
Centre coordinator for data management Korbinian Bösl at the University of Bergen is now member of the Data Stewardship Wizard (DSW) advisory board. DSW brings together data stewards and researchers to efficiently compose data management plans (DMPs) for research projects.
