It is a marvel to see science in action. The deep dive into past findings … the creative and free exchange of ideas … the long days and nights of meticulous experimentation … all exemplify the dedication of men and women in tireless pursuit of answers.

This year, we’ve witnessed this pursuit at a record pace.

Inside Georgia’s universities and beyond, scientists boldly reached for new tests, vaccines and medicines to fight an insidious virus. This is science at its urgent best.

Just as important are the efforts to move discoveries out of the lab and into the world, where they can benefit humankind. From diligent review committees to savvy entrepreneurs and investors, the people who turn promising findings into much-needed products and processes are critical to the fight.

GRA lives in both of these worlds, university research and entrepreneurship. As we look ahead to Thanksgiving week, we find ourselves powerfully grateful for those who have worked so hard to help our world solve a pandemic — as well as address a vast array of other needs, threats and challenges.

And we’re equally grateful for you. Your support of our Alliance allows us to do what we do — add capacity, accelerate discovery, seed and shape companies, and grow Georgia’s economy.

From all of us at GRA, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
