My podcast is the ONE THING keeping me sane right now

Debbie and husband Sam at outdoor fire pitWhat is your ONE BEST THING these days? Or the NEW THING you've newly discovered that's getting you through this historic and challenging interlude?

That's one of the questions I've been asking guests on my podcast, The Gap Year Podcast. I've gotten some interesting answers (a new dog, time with family, time to study history, writing snail mail letters).

What's your answer? Hit Reply and tell me. I'd love to hear!

About the podcast

My podcast is now in Season 3 and I've shifted the focus to the collective gap year we are all living through right now. It is aimed at those in midlife, and older, who are open to adventure, lifelong learning, and the challenge of reinvention at 60+. Episodes are less than 30 minutes, so the podcast is the perfect length if you're out for a walk.

You may wonder why I'm qualified to be the host. Along with my physician author husband, Sam Harrington (a recurring guest), I took a gap year at age 61. We left a comfortable life in DC and have been living a non-retired gap life ever since on an island off the coast of Maine. More here about our original gap year.

Podcast guests include acclaimed authors like Seth Godin, Daphne Merkin, Guy Kawasaki, Chip Conley, and Marc Freedman. As well as inspiring individuals like:

On the topic of book coaching

For a limited time, I am offering book coaching one session at a time and at a significantly reduced fee. If you’re interested in trying one session, click here.

Here's how it works: try one 45-minute Zoom session with me, at a discounted fee, to experience how I can help you go deep with your topic. We'll begin a discussion on the WHY, WHAT, and HOW of your book. Why are you writing this book? What is the BIG IDEA you are exploring? How might you organize the book?

Note: I am a gentle but direct editor with very high standards. My book was published by Portfolio, one of the top New York publishers. I'm a Harvard graduate who also has an MBA and I have worked for decades as an editor and reporter. If you're not interested in being questioned deeply about your writing project, and gently pushed to become a better writer, then we're probably not a good fit.

One of my current clients is the exceptional Joe Casey, an executive coach. Joe is writing a narrative nonfiction book about creative retirement: what it is and how to approach it.

What one book coaching client is saying

Debbie provides the perfect blend of support and challenge to get you started and keep you on track. Her insights and feedback make you stop and think - not just about your book - but sometimes more broadly about your approach to life and work. Debbie Weil is much more than a book coach. She’s a partner who helps bring your best to life.

- Joe Casey

Yours in possibilities and hope in 2021,

Debbie
