PLT Releases Green Jobs Professional Development Online!

Increasing coronavirus numbers keeping you indoors? Project Learning Tree has a new program for you! Introducing: the Green Jobs Online Course! With PLT’s new Green Jobs unit, you can play a role in introducing your learners to this bright future. From forester to wildlife manager, technician to remote sensing specialist, green jobs offer opportunities for people with diverse backgrounds, skills, interests, and personal qualities. Featured skill developments include:
- Leading Green Jobs Guide activities, whether indoors, outdoors, or remotely
- Applying tested tips and tricks when leading the activities
- Modifying activities to align with your learners and setting
- Identifying high-quality resources to supplement instruction

New PLT Activity Collections!
|
|
|
Project Learning Tree is excited to launch a new series of theme-based activity collections that focus on specific grade levels and topics. Each PLT activity displays explicit connections to practices and concepts mandated by national academic standards.
- Sensational Trees features three PLT activities for educators of students in grades K-2. These features play on "The Closer You Look", "Peppermint Beetle" and "Adopt A Tree" themes.
- Biodiversity Blitz features three PLT activities for educators of students in grades 3-5. These features include "Discover Diversity", "Charting Biodiversity" and "Web of Life" related activities.
- Discover Your Urban Forest features three new PLT activities for educators of students in grades 6-8. Activities feature "Decisions, Decisions", "Environmental Justice For All" and "Forest In The City" concepts.
