After moving to a remote work situation and seeing our community going through the uncertainty and challenges related to Covid19. We wanted to find a way for Bowthorpe Insurance to do something positive — and to give back to our community in a time of need. This year, instead of sending out holiday cards, we will be making a donation to the Utah Food Bank. We hope that our contribution helps make a difference. I would encourage each of you to dig deep and consider a donation too.

Fighting Hunger Statewide
Founded in 1904, Utah Food Bank has operated under various names but has always remained true to our mission of Fighting Hunger Statewide. 511,000 Utahns, which equates to 1 in 6 individuals, are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 5 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from. With your support last year, we distributed 52.9 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 44.1 million meals, to people facing hunger across the state.
While the world is full of people in need year-round, no time is that more apparent than during the holiday season. For every smiling family curled up around a warm fireplace and a massive pile of presents under the tree, there are others who have no fire, no gifts, and sometimes, even no family or home at all.
With children at home and countless adults out of work, Utah Food Bank is seeing the need for assistance significantly increase at all program and partner agency sites.
